Dermatology humour — a small gallery of the comics we love
Posted April 22, 2026
Medicine is serious work. Dermatology deals with real suffering — persistent acne scarring a teenager’s self-esteem, unexplained rashes that disrupt daily life, cancers we need to diagnose early, STDs that need honest conversation and treatment. None of that is funny.
And yet — the best doctors I know are also quietly funny people, and the internet has given the medical world a whole genre of comic strips and cartoons that manage to be both accurate and amusing about the absurdities of clinical life. Over the years we’ve shared many of them on our Facebook page. Here’s a curated gallery.
All comics below are copyright of their respective creators. If any artist prefers we not display their work here, let us know and we’ll remove it immediately.
These circulate widely on the internet without clear attribution. We enjoy them anyway.

Why we share them
Two reasons, honestly. First: many of these comics get something right — about how patients and doctors talk past each other, about the absurdity of some clinical situations, about the gap between what a treatment promises and what it can actually deliver. Good humour often encodes real observation.
Second: dermatology has a lot of moments where the gravity of the situation (a melanoma diagnosis, a disfiguring skin condition, an STD conversation that matters) sits next to moments of genuine levity. The humour and the seriousness coexist; one doesn’t undermine the other.
